I love Big Lots.

We got four nice lounge-y chairs for the pool area, plus a shaded swing for $250. So now we should be able to both entertain in our pool area, as well as supervise our daughter's activity on her swing set without roasting to death. I can go out with a book and sit on OUR swing, which she swings on hers.

I'm happy.

We're enjoying the heck out of the pool. I got Cat a floatation thing that looks like the old-style umpires chest protector, and between that and her water wings, she's just back and forth and back and forth like crazy, having a great time. OMG, the pool looks FANTASTIC with water in it! It's only got...well, at the deepest point, the water comes just over my knees as of half an hour ago...in it, but you can see how great it's going to look. We were just out there, wading. Tomorrow, water is going into the pool. Water which we, as opposed to Mother Nature, are putting there deliberately and which we WANT to have there. Rather than the standing kind that attracts mosquitoes that has, thus far, been the more usual condition.

This isn't the post I promised. I'm just excited - one of the malls this company manages is tearing up one of its lawns the week of Thanksgiving, and, since they're just going to throw the sod away, anyway, the project manager said I could have all I want. Joe and I fed Catherine and put her to bed, watched 24 (which hit its high point about four eps ago and is now descending into absurdity), and then went out to sit in our glorious jacuzzi.
